Privacy Policy

This policy covers the details you send us through this website. Hardman Horticulture is a trading name of Daniel Hardman, a sole trader based in Ormskirk, West Lancashire. We decide how and why your details are used, which makes us the data controller for them. You can reach us using the details at the bottom of this page.

What we collect

When you request a quote, the form asks for:

• your first name
• your mobile number
• your email address
• your postcode
• the work you are asking about
• a message, if you want to add one

The form also records the page you sent it from, how you arrived at the site, and the time between the page loading and the form being sent. The last of those is there to tell a person from an automated submission.

We do not ask for anything else, and there is no account to create.

Why we keep it, and on what basis

We use your details to answer your enquiry, prepare a quote and arrange a visit. Under the UK GDPR that is processing necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, rather than something you consent to. That is why there is no tick-box on the form.

Checking that a submission came from a person rather than a script relies on our legitimate interest in keeping the form usable.

Who else sees it

We decide what happens to your details. Three companies handle them for us, on our instructions:

• Growwwth Lab Limited runs our website, our enquiry forms and the system that follows them up. They act as our data processor, which means they may only use your details to do what we ask.
• HighLevel, Inc. provides the customer-management platform our enquiries are stored in. They are a sub-processor, appointed by Growwwth Lab Limited rather than by us directly.
• Cloudflare, Inc. hosts this website and delivers its pages.

HighLevel processes your details under its own data processing agreement, which requires them to be kept confidential, used only on instructions, and not used for HighLevel’s own purposes.

Those companies in turn rely on infrastructure suppliers of their own — HighLevel stores data on Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud — under terms that pass the same obligations down the chain.

We do not sell your details. We do not share them for anyone else’s marketing, and none of these companies may use them for their own.

Where your details go

HighLevel, Inc. stores data on servers in the United States, so making an enquiry means your details are transferred outside the United Kingdom.

That transfer is covered by the UK Addendum to the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, which forms part of the data processing agreements above. It is the safeguard UK data protection law provides for sending personal data to a country without its own adequacy decision.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not turn into work are deleted after twelve months. Where we carry out work for you, we keep the records for as long as we need them for tax and accounting purposes, and then delete them.

Cookies and similar technologies

This website sets no cookies of its own. There is no analytics, no advertising tag and no tracking of you across other sites.

Some pages show a Google map. That map is loaded from Google, and Google may set cookies or read information already stored on your device when it loads. That is Google’s processing rather than ours, and it is covered by Google’s own privacy policy. If you would rather it did not load, most browsers can block third-party content for a site.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of what we hold, correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, or object to us holding it at all. You can also ask for it in a portable form. Write to us using the details below and we will deal with it within a month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your details, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, which is the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it.
