These terms cover your use of this website. Hardman Horticulture is a trading name of Daniel Hardman, a sole trader based in Ormskirk, West Lancashire. By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

Separate terms apply to work we agree to carry out for you. Those are given to you with your quote, and nothing on this page replaces them.

What the information here is

The pages on this site describe the work we do, the months it suits, and the ground and conditions around Ormskirk and West Lancashire. It is written to be useful and it is kept up to date, but it is general information about gardens in this area.

It is not advice about your garden. Soil, drainage, aspect and planting vary from one street to the next here, and two gardens a few hundred metres apart can need opposite treatment. What your garden needs is something we establish by looking at it.

Trees, hedges and permissions

Several pages state the general position on tree preservation orders, conservation areas, high hedges, protected wildlife and waste. Those sections name the authority responsible and say what the rule is.

None of it is a determination about your property, your tree or your hedge, and none of it is legal advice. Whether a particular tree is protected is a question for the council that holds the orders, and we check before we quote.

Enquiries, quotes and prices

Sending the enquiry form does not create a contract. It is a request for us to get in touch.

Any price shown on this site is a guide to what work of that kind usually costs in this area. It is not an offer and it is not your price. Your price is the one on the written quote we give you after seeing the work, and only that.

We may change or withdraw anything on this site, including guide prices, without telling you first.

Availability

We try to keep the site available and correct. We cannot promise it will always be available, or that it will be free of errors, and we may change or take down any part of it.

Content on this site

The text, photographs, layout and design of this site belong to us or are used with permission. You are welcome to read it, print it and share links to it. You may not republish it, sell it, or present it as your own.

Some pages link to councils, government guidance and other organisations. We include those links because they are the source of something we have said. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under UK law, and nothing here excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

Beyond that, we are not responsible for loss caused by relying on the general information on this site in place of a quote or an inspection.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may bring proceedings in your own country.
